“I just finished making the Ladybug costume, and it is just adorable!!! The pattern was very clear and photos always help! ItThis was a fun and easy costume to make!! went together very quickly! I did adapt a couple things, as I could not get the red felt for the wings, so I used some leftover red satin. I made the headband with black and red ribbon, and it looks great! I can't wait to get a photo of my grand baby (9 months) in this costume!!”

The ladybug and bumble bee costumes are so sweet and easy to make! They come in five sizes – 6 months, 1, 2, 3 and 4. Ribbon is inserted through the front and back of the casing at the top of the body shape and tied on one side. The bottom of the body shape has an elastic casing. Instructions are included for elasticized ribbon headbands with large silk flowers.

Coordinating t-shirts (long or short sleeves), turtlenecks or onesies along with tights or pants can be worn underneath the body shape to complete the costumes. Several pieces of crumpled tissue paper can be placed inside the costume to give the ladybug and bee shapes more fullness if desired. Sew a hem at bottom of costume in place of elastic casing if you would like to make ladybug and bumble bee dresses for everyday.

Fleece, ultra suede and satin fabrics were used for the sample costumes. You can also use medium weight cotton fabrics.

This PDF e-pattern includes a full size pattern for the wings and spot circles on the ladybug, rectangle measurements for costumes, a detailed materials list, clear instructions written in English and step-by-step photographs.
