“Purchased for a friend who is just starting out. She really enjoys the book and is complimentary of the directions.”
If you have ever wanted to learn to sew, but didn't know where to start, you have come to the right place!
Have you looked at those pattern envelopes in a store and wondered if it was written in a different language? What is a selvage? Notches? Grainlines?
Have you seen the cute items that can be sewn and thought, "if only I knew how to do that?"
Do you have a sewing machine that is just sitting in a box, waiting for you to try something out?
Do you want to learn a new hobby?
This book is written at a beginner level, assuming only that you know how to thread your machine. Angie of Simply*Sophia will take you through a store-bought skirt pattern, and show you through photos and instruction, how easy this really can be!
If you'd like to make the skirt pictured, you will need to buy a pattern from the store. These are a few dollars and can be purchased just about anywhere.
There is an extra bonus to this book that you can't find anywhere -- and that is Angie's willingness to help you on an individual basis through your experience of learning to sew. An eBook filled with valuable information now, and beyond your purchase as well.

good for beginners
As a total beginner sewer, this tutorial was just what I was looking for!!! Just the idea of looking at a pattern frightened me and this not only got me through the entire pattern but with not a single question to ask. I just sewed my first skirt and I did it in just a few hrs!! THANK YOU!!!!
Angie's book is designed to help someone who has never attempted to sew or venture out of their comfort zone by looking at a pattern. After reading this book, I realized I knew more than I thought I did about sewing. The ebook was a good confirmation of this. The book is very well written. It is so easy to follow and understand for someone who has never sewn before. She shows you pictures every step of the way so you can visually see what she is talking about in case you are confused. Now I am ready for her to write Book 2 ....Let's get into some more difficult things like how to gather or make a ruffle when your machine doesn't have that feature, how to make a button hole, attach a zipper and etc....
