The Metro Bag is roomy and casual, featuring soft top pleats, a wide, sturdy shoulder strap, and a magnetic snap closure. Make it in brightly printed quilting cottons for shopping, beach, and diapers. Make it in heavier weight fabrics for a more formal look.

With one pattern piece and a strap, the Metro Bag can be cut and sewn in a couple of hours. It's particularly well suited for beginning sewers, with simple, straightforward instructions. Most of all, this bag is fun to make! We'll bet you can't make just one!

Dimensions: Bag is 18" wide x 18" long; Strap is 18"

- ¾ yard 44/45" fabric for the bag
- 5/8 yard 44/45" fabric for the lining
- 1 1/2 yards medium weight 22” sew-in interfacing
- Magnetic snap (optional)

I have made a couple of these bags now and they are really easy, quick and fun.

I must make one for my sister, she would love it as a nappy/diaper bag.

I made one reversible with a button and elastic closure on each side.

Great, easy to follow pattern :) My first handbag looked amazing! Just wish the magnetic snap was mentioned somewhere in the pattern instructions as I forgot to add it

Easy pattern, loved how fast it came together. Only thing I changed was I topstiched the handle but wasnt called for in the pattern directions. thanks :)
