Fur Lined Boots - Sizes 0-14mths
Keep baby warm and stylish with these adorable boots.
These boots are soft and sweet! They keep their shape very well. They can be made with elastic around the ankle (brown shoes) or with ribbon that ties in the front (lavender shoes). The ends of the ribbon are stitched at the center back seam so they won’t fall out of the boots.
They are so easy to make - even for beginners! The top of the boot is two pieces. Craft fur is used for the lining of the sample boots (wool felt, acrylic felt or terry cloth can also be used). Ultra suede fabric and cotton fabric were used for the outside of the sample boots. The craft fur lining is fused to the fabric. Then the top and sole shapes are cut out and stitched. Single fold bias tape is sewn around the tops of the boots and around the ankles for the elastic or ribbon casing.
Boots will fit babies from newborn to approximately 14 months. Five sizes of boots are included in pattern - lengths of finished soles are 4”, 4.25”, 4.5”, 4.75” and 5”. Optional instructions are given to put a non-skid sole on boots for babies that are walking.
Materials List:
-Fabric for outside of boots – cotton, ultra suede, denim, etc.
-Craft fur for lining – color that coordinates with fabric on outside of boots – purchase craft fur that has a low pile (felt or terry cloth can be used in place of craft fur but the boots won’t be as warm)
-Iron-on fusible web (sample boots were made with Lite Steam-A-Seam 2 Fusible Web
by The Warm Company but any fusible web for fabric will work fine)
-Single fold bias tape – 1 1/4 yards of a contrasting color (in place of bias tape, you can cut a 1” x 45” strip from a contrasting fabric)
