About Us
Since 2006, www.YouCanMakeThis.com has become your resource for downloadable instructions and patterns. These “how-to” eBooks walk you through every step so that even the most “craft-challenged” person can make beautiful items for their homes and families.
The site has grown into 34 categories ranging from clothing creation and cooking, to home decor, jewelry, crochet, crafts, and more. In May of 2008, www.SWAKembroidery.com was launched and we look forward to our 3rd sister- site ready to be debuted in Spring of 2009!
We welcome you to the YouCanMakeThis.com BLOG where you’ll find everything showcased under one roof! So whether you love to sew, quilt, cook, craft, embroider, or all of the above, we hope you’ll visit and enjoy the YouCanMakeThis.com blog! Our team of contributors will bring you fun ideas, reviews, projects, and behind-the-scenes news for all things you can MAKE!

What an awesome team!!! Can’t wait to see what all you guys come up with!
Beautiful team…
What a great site! Love crafty things to make for my family and friends. It would be awesome to see video how-to’s and have you share them here and on NewBaby.com and soon… MomTV (www.momtv2.com).
Thanks for bringing all your talents together for us moms!!
You guys are awesome! It was so fun to meet you at Mom 2.o–and I love your adorable site!
Just wondering if you have a button for your website that i can add to my blogs?
I am going to do a feature on your website on Friday on my Love Is blog (http://loveisnewadditionstothefamily.blogspot.com/ )
And would love to be able to put a button on there to make your website easy access.
You have some fantastic ideas on here for every mom
I have used and loved both of the websites! I am not sure if it is ok that I do this but I was wondering if one of your creative people could come up with a swim suit cover up that then you could put some applique on it. I just for some reason think it would be very cute and there really are not many patterns for one and it should be simple? I think my daughter would look great in one going to the pool!
Thanks, again I love all of your things… oh one other question I have left comments on projects but I do not know how to add a pic… where can I find how to do that?
Rhonda
Hey! I remember you two (Kim & Kris) from BYU (or was it Ricks?), and then again from UEA! (I LOVED your classroom idea book, and I used it all the time.) How amazing to run into you again online!
It’s wonderful to see that you’re just as creative and helpful as ever. I spent HOURS on your site looking at the different patterns. Thank you so much for the great ideas!
I tried to add a comment about my post announcing You Can Quilt This at my blog. No comment box came up where the blog announcement for the contest is lo gged so I am posting here. I also added the logo there. My blog:
I tried to post a comment about the You Can Quilt This contest that I blogged about. I have added the linked logo, also. The comment box didn’t come up. So, I used this comment section instead. What is the matter with the respond box for:
I just discovered this and I must admit I don’t “blog”.
My memories of quilting, when I was a young teenager, going once a week to either my Grandmothers Ada’s house, my Great Aunt Bessie’s house or our house. It was where the quilt frame was sit up or whos quilt they were working on. Everyone would bring something for the BIG LUNCH we would have. Of course Great Aunt Bessie would have to make here “Cracked Jello Salad” my favorite. I came from a family of 9 children so there was always alot of food. We would quilt, by hand, all morning starting at around 9am break for lunch then start up again and quilt till my family would have to leave , so we could go home to make dinner for when my father came home from work. These were very special times for me for to this day I still feel in all of my heart that a true quilt is supposed to be done all by hand!! The caring and love and the stories were great. I wish I had one of those quilts we did sadly my folks moved so much the quilts got lost in the confussion of moving and the ware of time on them.
I am very excited to join this newsletter.
Thanks
Gracie
What a bunch of fun girls!? So I wanted to let you know, for some reason I can not comment in your giveaway post. I have been trying to wait for all the posts to laod but they never do and I clicked on the link to just ‘add one’ comment but it doesn’t do anything
So I left all my comments in your newest post about scissors… I hope you will count them too:)
Hi, I can’t seem to leave a comment on the sewing machine contest page! Anyways, I put your button on my blog, and wanted to make sure I am entered - I NEED a new machine!!! thanks
I too have been trying to leave a comment on the sewing machine giveaway. No luck. I subscribed to the newsletter, and really want to be entered in the giveaway. I have never made a quilt, and have RA in my hands, but think I can machine sew the pieces if I can get a good machine. The only one I have is my sweet Mama’s portable Singer. She passed away in 2007 at the age of 92. And I want to make a memory quilt using fabric from some of her favorite things, that all her kids and grands and great-grands will remember seeing. So please enter me!
