It’s a wonderful time of year for so many reasons. It’s also a perfect time to use our time and out talents to help others.
This is our 3rd year of teaming up with the Toys for Tots Foundation in order to provide doll clothing for all of the dolls donated each year.
I invite you to watch this short video so you can see how easy it is to make a dolly “wrap” skirt. It’s reversible, too! Make them for your own children and make them for others, as well. Teach your children how to make them. Teach your friends how to make them. Everyone is going to love not only the “making”, but the “giving” as well.
There are 3 different patterns to choose from. Make any or all of them! If you donate them, be sure to download the “submission” form also found on these pages below. The 2008 form is the same as the 2009 form.

Oh I have a sewing program at my Child’s Elementary with 5th and 6th Grade students and this would be a super great project for them!! I have made them myself and super easy and great for the dollies too!!
We are gifting our 5 year old with a basic sewing machine this year…the wrap skirt would be a perfect project for her a couple of months from now. Yay!
Oh, perfect first project for my oldest! I made a few to donate last year.
I’d like to teach my friend who has 2 little girls. These would be great to donate to a hospital too.
I made a wrap skirt and matching top this year to donate to the Salvation Army Angel Tree program. The deadline is Friday, so hopefully I can get a few more sets made before the deadline. Thanks for the super easy pattern!
I would love to teach the kids at my inner city after school program! I am sure they would love to learn how to sew!

I had no idea Toys for Tots accepted handmade items. Around here it seems the campaigns all say new store bought toys. I’ll have to keep these in mind for next year. I would love to make some skirts for Toys for Tots. I don’t have anyone to teach sewing too yet, maybe one day when my son is older.

I would love to teach my almost 7 year old daughter! She just asked me tonight if I would teach her to sew so next year she could make her brothers’ presents. She would love this!

I would love to teach my daughter to make these skirts so she can help out other children around the world who may not have as much as her. I would also teach my Aunts and Cousins so we can all get into the spirit of giving for a great cause.

My daughter is only 3 but I already cannot wait to teach her how to sew. I would love to show her how to make her own skirts for her dolls as well as have her donate her creations to others. What a great idea!
I will start teaching my five year old daughter to sew. This project would be great.
My oldest grand daughters are 6 and 7. I think this will be a great project for them to learn when I visit them this summer. Great pattern for anyone with just a bit of sewing experience.
I would love to teach my daughter and nieces, and our church group is always looking for service projects.
I hope to one day teach all three of my little girls to sew. They already show a desire and I can’t wait.

I teach sewing classes at the library, and to fellow homeschool families. This would be a fun event for a homeschool girls/moms day out.
I donated some outfits (skirt and pillowcase top) to Toys for Tots a couple of years ago. I need to make time to make some more outfits. I think this is a wonderful idea.
I’ll sew it with my oldest daughter. I won’t call it ‘teach’, because i’m still learning to sew. my daughter likes to watch me sewing, so it will be fun to sew the skirt together.
I have not donate it yet, because i’m starting to sew it now.
I think my granddaughter would love to make these skirts. I’m sure we can find lots of choices in my stash.
I’ve already taught my grandson to sew a pillowcase! I know he wouldn’t go for a skirt, but maybe it is time to teach his younger sisters to sew.
My 9 year old got a sewing machine back in the summer and had tinkered with it here and there. She is beginning to show more interest. She helped me make some wrap skirts last year for Toys for Tots and we had so much fun. Maybe my other daughter will want to help this year!
I think these wrap skirts are to die for!! My daughter was in Hobby Lobby with me and saw a little pink sewing machine and instantly wanted it..so for her 5th birthday she’ll be getting a starter machine and this project would be fantastic for her to learn how to make!! Thanks so much for the video tutorial, it looks so easy we’ll be sure to make some for Toys For Tots next year…by then I’m sure her Build-a-bear will have a WHOLE wardrobe of wrap skirts, too!

I’d love to teach my nieces how to sew. One is too big for dolls, but the other two would enjoy making the dolly wrap skirt and if I teach them this year we can make a bunch of skirts for Toys for Tots next year. I had so much fun donating skirts last year and am hoping I can participate again next year.
My 7 year old is getting interested in sewing. Looks like a great project to start with!
I would like to teach my 4 year old daughter SaraMarie to sew the twirl skirt. She is very into making things and loves fabrics and clothes as much as I do.
These would be so fun to teach some of the little girls I know how to make. They would love these for their dolls! Thanks!
